7 Clive Barker

Clive Barker is one of my favorite storytellers thank you to, Terror at The Drive-In a Facebook group of horror fans that gather weekly using the Scener app to watch various Horror movies, documentaries, and reality shows. I’ll leave details where you can find them on social media.

In 2020 I purchased Clive Barker’s book, “The Hellbound Heart” after watching Hellraiser I and II so many times I wanted to finally read the actual book. I had only found that Clive Barker wrote books after watching the movie, “Nightbreed”.

I just became fascinated by not only finding more movies but also the writings of Clive Barker. I am genuinely interested in how he created these different worlds and characters and then brought them to life on the screen. Nightbreed is such a beautiful story and beautiful movie it’s in the top ten of my favorite horror movies.

I did look around online last summer and found there were rumors of maybe Michael Dougherty working with Clive Barker and a few others to maybe create a Nightbreed series to HBO Max, but then this year Dougherty announced he is working on the anticipated sequel to Trick r Treat, which is an amazing anthology horror movie. So that rumor of a Nightbreed series is squashed and dead.

If you have not seen Nightbreed you can watch the uncut director’s version on Shudder thanks to Joe Bob Briggs and The Last Drive-In showing it on their season finale this year.
